Why Is It Critical to Test Coupa Updates?

Coupa releases three updates per year that are mandatory for all customers. Each update needs to be thoroughly tested because of the following reasons.

  • Ensuring Compatibility: Coupa R40 Updates may introduce changes that can affect integrations with other systems, such as ERP, procurement, and payment systems. Coupa update testing ensures that these integrations continue to function correctly.
  • Identifying Bugs: Like any software, Coupa updates can introduce new bugs. Testing helps identify and fix these issues before they impact end users.
  • Validating New Features: Coupa updates bring new features and enhancements. Testing ensures that these new functionalities work as intended and meet user requirements.
  • Security Role Validation: Updates might address security vulnerabilities or impact existing security roles and privileges. Testing ensures that your Coupa system is protected against threats and complies with security standards.
  • User Experience: Updates can change the user interface or user workflows. Testing helps ensure that these changes enhance the user experience without causing confusion or usability issues.

Opkey for Coupa Test Automation

Opkey is the industry's leading No-Code test automation platform and an official Coupa partner. Coupa customers across industries are saving time, money, and effort on each release with Opkey's AI-enabled features. Here's how:

  • AI-enabled Test Management: Wilfred, Opkey's Chatbot, is powered by Opkey’s ERP language model to simplify test creation for both technical and non-technical folks. Opkey's Natural Language Processing chatbot Wilfred can break down bottlenecks and limitations between teams, allowing you to save time and money on labor costs while speeding up Coupa release testing overall. Wilfred can also help with a wide variety of tasks and project areas, including planning, support tickets, and much more.
  • AI-powered Impact Analysis: During Coupa releases, Opkey’s AI powered impact analysis engine takes all the guesswork out of determining what needs to be tested. Opkey identifies changes in your transactions, configurations, and custom screens to highlight the impacted tests due to those changes. Instead of executing all the test cases, you only need to test those that are highly risky and their dependent components. Thus, eliminating hours of effort and struggle.
  • AI-powered Self-Healing: Coupa is a highly dynamic application and maintaining test scripts can be a challenge. Opkey's AI-powered Self-Healing feature detects and automatically resolves issues that arise due to updates. The time and resources required for script maintenance are drastically reduced and AI’s ability to continuously learn and adapt to changes ensures that your automated test suite remains functional.
  • End-to-end Coverage: Opkey tests across entire enterprise application landscapes, from front-end such as web and mobile to core, back-end systems such as custom or databases, ERP and CRM systems. It supports 12+ ERPs including Coupa, Oracle EBS, Oracle Cloud, Workday, Dynamics 365, and Salesforce. As a result, you can eliminate critical gaps in your end-to-end journey.
